Dr. MurphyThe Women and Pay Equity, Getting Even: Why Women Don’t Get Paid Like Men and What to do About it program featuring Evelyn Murphy, is being presented on Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at 7:30 PM in the North Penn High School Audion in Lansdale, PA.

Dr. Murphy will be speaking about her research and efforts to make American working women aware of how much wage discrimination costs them and how commonplace it is. Through the founding of the WAGE (Women are Getting Even) Project and her book, Dr. Murphy’s goal it to get women talking openly about their experiences with wage discrimination and to assist each and every woman in their actions to get rid of this unfair, illegal treatment.

A CD will be distributed to all attendees which will contain information about women and pay equity including pay equity tables and figures, the top ten reasons for the wage gap, current pay equity legislation, a WAGE Club discussion guide, and more. The book Getting Even: Why Women Don’t Get Paid Like Men and What to do About it will be available for sale and Dr. Murphy will be signing purchased copies.

TAKE RT. 76 (PA TURNPIKE) TO THE NORTHEAST EXTENSION RT.476. TAKE RT.476 (NORTHEAST EXT.) TO EXIT #31 LANSDALE/KULPSVILLE. UPON EXITING THE NORTHEAST EXT. TURN LEFT ONTO SUMNEYTOWN PIKE. YOU WILL GO APPROXIMATELY 2 MILES TO THE 7TH TRAFFIC LIGHT, WHICH IS VALLEY FORGE ROAD (RT. 363). YOU WILL PASS THE STADIUM ON YOUR LEFT. TURN LEFT ONTO VALLEY FORGE RD. (RT.363), GO 1/4 MILE AND NORTH PENN’S ENTRANCE IS ON THE LEFT. (CALVARY BAPTIST SCHOOL/CHURCH IS IN OUR FRONT YARD).

FROM RT. 309 EXPRESSWAY:

TRAVEL NORTH ON RT. 309 FROM PHILADELPHIA. TAKE THE NORRISTOWN ROAD EXIT. TURN LEFT AT THE TRAFFIC LIGHT ONTO NORRISTOWN ROAD. (THE NAME WILL CHANGE TO SUMNEYTOWN PIKE AFTER THE FIRST 2 MILES.) FOR APPROXIMATELY FIVE MILES AND 8 TRAFFIC LIGHTS (YOU WILL GO THRU THE SMALL TOWN OF NORTH WALES CROSSING OVER RAILROAD TRACKS, GO UNDER A STONE BRIDGE, PASS MERCK) CROSS OVER BROAD STREET (NEW CVS ON THE CORNER). CONTINUE TO RT. 363 (VALLEY FORGE ROAD). TURN RIGHT ONTO VALLEY FORGE ROAD (RT. 363), GO 1/4 MILE TO NORTH PENN, ENTRANCE IS ON THE LEFT. (CALVARY BAPTIST SCHOOL & CHURCH IS IN OUR FRONT YARD).

FROM LOWER BUCKS COUNTY:

TAKE THE PA TURNPIKE WEST TO THE FT. WASHINGTON EXIT (#26) WHICH IS RT. 309. TAKE RT. 309 NORTH TO THE NORRISTOWN RD. EXIT, AND THEN FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS LISTED ABOVE FOR TRAVEL BY RT. 309.
